Jacques Chapuis is an internationally recognized expert in health sciences with a focus on nursing. He is currently the Director of the La Source School of Nursing at HES-SO – Switzerland.

Jacques Chapuis is an internationally recognized expert in health sciences with a focus on nursing. He is currently the Director of the La Source School of Nursing, within the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO). 

Jacques Chapuis is strongly engaged internationally and committed to promote the quality of healthcare worldwide. He is a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Assembly, the supreme governing body of the ICRC; Chairman of the Florence Nightingale Medal Commission; Chairman of the French Fund Maurice de Madre. He is also the Vice-President of the International Secretariat of Nurses in the French-speaking world (SIDIIEF) and a member of the Board of Fondation de Nant, Switzerland.

Jacques Chapuis has a unique career path: he qualified as a nurse specialized in psychiatry, anesthesia and resuscitation. He worked as a medical administrator for the ICRC in Pakistan (Peshawar and Quetta), overseeing war surgery in several hospitals and first-aid posts along the Afghan-Pakistan border. Among other things, he established the Bois-Cerf School of Paramedics and Emergency Care during the time he was heading the Bois-Cerf Nursing School.
